Bobs Knobs Collimation Screws

Bobs Knobs Collimation Screws

I had just received my Meade 10" Classic Telescope and immediate went to setting it up at a nearby observing site. One of the other observers that night started talking about the SCT's and upgrades to make them better. One of the first recommendations he made was installing Bobs Knobs. This made little sense to me until he explained what they were and how handy they are. I jumped on the internet and searched them out. They were extremely inexpensive and looked like they were designed properly. I didn't need collimation on the 10" scope, so I delayed getting the knobs. However, after a bit of carrying the scope in the back of my truck, and the purchase of an 8" Meade LX200 Classic, I decided to buy 2 sets and install them. I received them in no time and set forth the installation process. The instructions were clear and concise. I had no trouble installing the knobs and collimating the scopes. I find now I am more likely to collimate my scope more often with this aid. It is an easy procedure now. If you buy nothing else for your LX200 Classic, you should buy these. They are inexpensive and easy to use. They are a lifesaver in the field, and I wouldn't be without them. They are on my scopes to stay.
